Create and Drink is a guided art class with a different medium each month, join us for some arts and crafts accompanied by bottomless wine!

You know those times when you get woozy on wine and start to feel artistic and creative!? Well, now’s the time to do both, with Brighton’s adult art class ‘Create and Drink’!
A pop-up class of guided art, with a different medium each month, for this Create and Drink we’re going to celebrate the coming of summer with the art of tie dye. Don’t worry if you’re not confident with your creative eye yet, this class will be guided so you can focus on the BOTTOMLESS wine! – yep, bottomless.

Let your inebriated mind loose.

There will be nibbles, all supplies including white t-shirts of mixed sizes and white socks, a selection of dyes, elastic bands, jiffy bags to take your clothes home for washing and drying, aprons, gloves and more! Please feel free to bring any clothes you would like to tie dye if there is dye left over, or if you don’t want to use the supplied tees and socks.

I have to make sure I have enough wine for you all so places must be pre-booked, ticket sales stop on Friday 27th May @ 3pm, and you must be over 18.

Date & Time: 28th May // 13:00 → 15:00

Location: The Draw Studio

Tuition: Untutored

Conceived and led by artist & Draw tutor Jade Hylton, Drawversity is a life model class that focuses on introducing more black models and people of colour to the world of life modelling. During the session a new model will pose for the group, choosing their own pose lengths, guided and supported by Jade. These sessions are clothed, giving artists the opportunity to draw the clothed figure, or portrait, with the option of the model posing unclothed if they prefer. The session is open to all abilities & levels of experience and Jade will be on hand to offer any help you need.

How will it work?

When you arrive at New England House you’ll need to come to the main doors next to the Building Managers Office on Level 3 and call the number on the door to be admitted – please note that you’ll need to wear a mask at all times in the corridors of New England House. Once you’re at the session you’ll need to show a digital or printed receipt as proof of booking, then you’re ready to go! We will take a short tea break half way through the session; drawing boards, chairs and easels will be provided and you’ll need to bring your own drawing materials along.

Here’s what we are doing to protect everybody at Draw:

  • All of our tutors and models are fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • We keep the studio well ventilated and use a medical grade air purifying system to minimise aerosol spread
  • Session numbers are strictly capped to allow plenty of space between people
  • We keep the studio clean and provide free hand sanitiser
  • Our tutors & models are paid sick pay and won’t attend a session if unwell

Here’s what you can do to help protect vulnerable people and keep our sessions open:

  • Use a lateral flow test before coming along (details HERE)
  • Get fully vaccinated – it is quick, safe and easy (details HERE)
  • Please don’t come to the session if you are unwell – you will always get a full refund
  • Wear a facemask to protect other people at the session

This session costs £12, or £9 for students & Patreon supporters. If you can’t afford to come to the session, please get in touch and we will find a way to make sure you can attend.
